Mrs. Bev Newitt
Bev first joined the Campbelltown Camden District Band in 1991.
Over the last 30 years, Bev has had experience in conducting many bands including primary, high school and concert bands.
During this period, Bev has attended conducting courses with the Department of Education and Training and the Band Association. She regularly conducts the learner groups and Junior Band at the CCDB on both Monday and Friday nights as well as outside performances of the Junior Band. Bev has also stepped up to the mark, filling in for various Musical Director absences in the past, continuing her commitment to the CCDB.
Because of her dedication to groups, Bev has also been at the forefront of organising committees in various forms. She has attended, tutored and conducted at Band Camps, an activity that a lot of young musicians enjoy and which can lead them to pursuing musical talents in a broader field.
As a cornet player, Bev has spent her life growing up with music and has enjoyed time spent with brass bands in the Wagga Wagga and Moree areas.
Bev's children also share her love of music and several of them remain active members of the band.
