Mr Harold Pollard OAM
|
Harold Pollard is a founding member of the band which was formed in 1946.
He learnt to play cornet and trombone at an early age and later took up saxophone and euphonium. In 1953
he was appointed to the position of Director of Music and has held that position continuously
since that date. He was appointed assistant conductor to the City of Sydney Bicentennial Band in 1987 with
which he toured England, France, Japan, USA and Canada. In 1991 he was awarded the Order of Australia Medal
for services to Banding.
