Today is Day 20
We have left our host families in Dotternhausen today. It was very beautiful and we had good food. During the bus trip we were remembering Australia and wrote a song.
Weetbix and cornflakes and hot toast for breakfast
Sausage rolls and roast chook and meat pies that don’t last
Snags on the BBQ with onion rings
These are a few of our Australian things.
We don’t sit in kangaroos to ride down the street,
Christmas in summer, we love the heat,
Emus that don’t fly although they have wings,
Please get your facts right about Aussie things.
When we’re marching, fifty metres,
And we’re feeling faint,
We simply remember these Aussie things
and then we all feel, real great.
By the time we had finished this song we were in Ludwigsburg and are on our way to the palace. We didn’t go to the palace in Ludwigsburg as it cost too much for only 10 minutes or so: 6.50 Marks to enter the grounds. It was nice to see that some people, the Swallows, were on the bus ready to leave on time, 11:20am.
A news update is needed due to the lack thereof yesterday. Andrew is getting better and will be getting out of intensive care, hopefully by Thursday. Stephen will be meeting us today, hopefully. Also his girlfriend, Lucy, is coming here to be with him. Andrew’s of course.
We arrived in Rothenburg and dispersed into the town. The photo is of the famous Christmas shop in Rothenburg.
Today’s Quotable Quotes are:-
"I don’t like drinking pepper." - which was said by Lauren.
Also in Emma’s words, "No, Brendan took the photo today! He gave it to his Mother and she took it."
We had dinner at 6:45pm and it consisted of a 4 course meal. Soup, salad, schnitzel & custard.
Anthony dazzled us with his ability to juggle coasters and end up with the coasters in the tomato sauce bowl. Anthony also demonstrated how easy it is to drink lemonade through his nose.
After the meal was the presentation, where certificates were given out.
